HVG Books Publisher's existing site suffered from inconsistent navigation, slow purchasing, and poor mobile experiences, undermining conversion and promo campaigns, they sought a unified, easy-to-manage sollution.
I participated in needs assessment, collaborated on feature and user flow analysis, created wireframes and high-fidelity visual designs for homepage, product displays, cart, and checkout. I also defined visual hierarchy, typography, and brand consistency, coordinating closely with developers.
I prioritized mobile-first navigation and simplified purchasing journeys to reduce friction. I balanced HVG’s brand identity with clean, intuitive layouts. By designing a flexible template, I allowed each publisher to customize visuals and colors while retaining core UX patterns across platforms.
We had to align eight years of prior retail interface patterns into a single template, ensuring mobile responsiveness, fast checkout, and analytics tracking. The project required tight collaboration and frequent iteration during development.
The template launched successfully on HVG Books, improving user experience and conversion rates. It was then adopted by Book24, Bioenergetic, Animus, Agave Books, and Művelt Nép, each customizing branding while benefiting from the shared structure. The reusability expedited time-to-market and ensured high-quality UX across partners.
Next time, I’d integrate KPI-based testing for each publisher launch—tracking conversion uplift per layout tweak, to further validate and refine the template’s performance across different audiences.
